A Pine Bluff woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 530 Tuesday afternoon.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Marianne Smith, 22, was southbound driving a 2012 Toyota when she struck the rear of a 2012 Volvo driven by Lonnie Smith of Camden, who had slowed down because of traffic in the left lane.
The accident was reported at Pratt Road in Pulaski County at 4:58 p.m.
The preliminary report said the weather was clear and the roadway dry at the time.
The death was the 81st on the state’s highways so far this year.
