PB woman accused of using stolen debit card

A Pine Bluff woman was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly used a stolen debit card to buy gasoline.

Christa Daniels, 19, allegedly took the card out of the purse of a woman in a classroom at Southeast Arkansas College, Detective Sam Atkinson said in a probable cause affidavit.

Atkinson reported that a witness to the theft identified Daniels as the person who took the card.

The victim reportedly received a notification on her phone that the card had been used to buy $5 worth of gasoline at a convenience store, and Atkinson reported that store security video showed Daniels using the card and signing the victim’s name.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Daniels after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge her with fraudulent use of a credit or debit card, a felony, and misdemeanor forgery.

Daniels was told to come back to court March 29.
