A Pine Bluff man was arrested July 4 after he allegedly pointed a handgun at a group of people after an argument.
Brandon Rogers, 22, was identified as the suspect by a witness, Deputy Prosecutor Karres Manning said in a probable-cause affidavit presented in court Monday.
Detective Jeremy Oswalt said in a probable-cause affidavit that police were sent to 2001 West 29th Avenue and received information that Rogers had left the scene in a vehicle, which was located later at Lake Saracen.
Manning said Rogers has pending charges of possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms stemming from an incident earlier this year.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $10,000 bond for Rogers on Monday after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault.
Bridgforth also ordered Rogers to have no contact with the alleged victims until the case is settled, and told him to come back to court Aug. 15.
The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Rogers.
