A Pine Bluff man who had been arrested for public intoxication at the Southeast Arkansas District Livestock Show, Fair and Rodeo late Friday night will have to post a $5,000 bond on a felony drug charge after jail deputies found a bag containing marijuana while he was being processed.
Kaylon Deaundre Butler, 28, reportedly told deputies he did not remember what happened to the marijuana, Tri-County Drug Task Force Investigator Christopher Drye reported in a probable cause affidavit presented in court Monday.
Drye reported that jail Cpl. Clayborn Cosen found a small plastic bag containing three smaller bags of a substance near the fingerprint area where Butler had been a short time before. The substance field tested positive for marijuana.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney ruled prosecutors had probable cause to charge Butler with furnishing a prohibited article and appointed the Public Defender’s Office to represent him.
Butler was told to come back to court Nov. 5.
