Man wanted in connection with alleged burglary, rape, police say

The Pine Bluff Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a man suspected of aggravated burglary, rape and other alleged crimes in an incident that occurred Tuesday in Pine Bluff.

Anthony James Welspom, 53, is wanted on probable cause of aggravated residential burglary, being a felon in possession of a firearm, rape, kidnapping and aggravated assault, detective Capt. Greg Shapiro said in a news release Tuesday.

Welspom, who should be considered armed and dangerous, is being sought for an incident on the west side of Pine Bluff Tuesday, Shapiro said.

Welspom is approximately 5’10’’ and 195 pounds, Shapiro said.

His last known address is on Tracey Avenue in Little Rock. He may be in a black, 4 door, 1999 Cadillac Deville with Arkansas LPN 271SAT. He may be travelling to Blytheville.

Anyone with information should call the Pine Bluff Police Detective Division at (870) 730-2090. All calls will be kept confidential and a reward is available for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
