Judge sets bond in alleged threatening incident

A $50,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man who allegedly threatened to kill several of his neighbors.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge Luther Stone, 40, with three counts of terroristic threatening.

Detective Steve Rucker reported in a probable cause affidavit that Stone pulled a knife and made threats to three women who were sitting in their backyard in the 2500 block of West 34th Avenue on Saturday.

Rucker reported that when police made contact with Stone he was “heavily intoxicated,” and officers recovered a large butcher knife from Stone’s residence.

In addition to setting the bond, Kearney ordered Stone to have no contact with the three alleged victims, and told him to come back to court March 25.
