A Jefferson County woman was killed in a one-vehicle traffic accident Tuesday afternoon in the Sulphur Springs area.
Amanda L. Rogers, 30, was identified as the victim by Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley. Rogers was pronounced dead by a doctor in the emergency room at Jefferson Regional Medical Center at 12:35 p.m. Kelley said the cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma.
The accident was reported at 11:50 a.m. at 10029 Sulphur Springs Road, which is 1.4 miles from the location listed as Rogers’ residence on her driver’s license, according to the preliminary crash report by the Arkansas State Police. No one else was in the vehicle.
According to the report, Rogers was driving a 2001 Honda east on Sulphur Springs Road when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree. The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the accident.
The accident is the 307th fatal crash on Arkansas roadways this year.
