Pine Bluff police are investigating a Friday afternoon traffic accident that sent a young male to the hospital.
Lt. David Price said the boy, whose name was not immediately available, was struck by a vehicle as he was attempting to cross Hazel Street near the intersection of West 17th Avenue on a bicycle.
Price said the driver of the car, a 25-year-old woman whose name was not immediately available, was northbound on Hazel Street when the boy came out of a driveway located behind the carpet store on the northeast corner of 17th Avenue and Hazel Street and was struck when he tried to angle across the street.
After the crash, the boy was able to get up and go to the parking lot of a convenience store on the northwest corner of the street where police and emergency medical personnel were called.
Price said Friday afternoon the extent of injuries to the boy was unknown.
