Pine Bluff police are continuing their investigation into an accident that resulted in the death of two pedestrians early Christmas morning.
Capt. Skip Elliott said Wednesday that no citations have been issued and no arrests made as a result of the accident, which was reported at West 31st Avenue and Olive Street at 2:33 a.m. The investigation into whether a citation or arrest will result from the incident is ongoing.
Deaundre Washington, 27, and Dontrick Williams, 32, both of Pine Bluff, were struck by a vehicle driven by Kendrick Collins, also of Pine Bluff.
Washington and Williams were both taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead by a doctor in the emergency room.
A preliminary report indicated that Collins was driving a 2010 Dodge northbound on Olive Street when the pedestrians walked into his path.
Traffic Lt. Donna Fratesi is conducting the investigation.
