Fight between boyfriend-girlfriend ends with woman’s arrest

A Pine Bluff man was reportedly cut on the arm by his girlfriend during an altercation between the two Monday.

The woman, Krystal Draggs, 26, said the man had hit her several times after a verbal altercation between the two turned physical. She said a mirror broke during the altercation and she took some of the glass to protect herself.

Detective Jeremy Funderburg reported that the man was cut on the left arm, and when he was interviewed, said that he was “in bed when Draggs started fighting him and that is when he started to bleed.”

The incident was reported in the 1400 block of West 17th Avenue late Monday afternoon.

Following a court hearing Tuesday, Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $5,000 bond for Draggs after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge her with second-degree domestic battery.

Bridgforth also ordered Draggs to have no contact with the alleged victim and told her to come back to court March 15.

The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Draggs.
