A Pine Bluff man convicted of domestic battery earlier this year was arrested Saturday for a second offense, and will be charged with a felony.
Roy Smith, 29, allegedly struck his girlfriend in the face after she tried to stop him from using her vehicle by getting into the passenger seat.
Detective Sam Atkinson reported that police saw cuts to the woman’s lip when she was questioned.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Smith and ordered him to have no contact with the alleged victim until the case is settled.
Smith was convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery in May and had a prior conviction for aggravated robbery and theft of property stemming from a 2006 conviction.
Smith was told to come back to court Dec. 5.
