Officers responding to a domestic disturbance call Wednesday morning in the 400 block of South Linden Street took a man into custody after he allegedly injured a woman during an argument.
Quinton Thomas, 23, of Pine Bluff reportedly came home from work and started arguing with a woman in the home, according to a police report on the incident. The argument escalated into Thomas throwing something that hit the woman in the face and then picking up a crutch, which he used to strike the woman on her left arm just above the elbow, causing a contusion.
Special Judge Luke Zakrzewski set a $20,000 bond for Thomas on Thursday after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with second-offense third-degree domestic battery.
The judge also ordered Thomas to have no contact with the alleged victim and told him to come back to court Jan. 10.
Zakrzewski appointed the Public Defender’s Office to represent Thomas.
