A Crossett man was killed and two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident Sunday morning in Ashley County.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Patrick W. Johnson, 29, was northbound on Highway 133 at 1:40 a.m. when he lost control of the 2013 Jeep he was driving four miles north of Crossett.
The vehicle struck a billboard sign, rolled several times and ejected Johnson, who was pronounced dead at the scene by Ashley County Coroner Steve Hartshorn at 2 a.m.
Two passengers in the vehicle, Kalling Johnson, 29, and Kali Floyd, 15, both of Crossett, were injured and taken to Ashley County Medical Center for treatment.
Trooper Lagarian Cross said in the report the weather was clear and the roadway dry at the time of the accident.
The death was the 302nd recorded on the state’s highways so far this year.
