Charges pending in Fordyce homicide

Formal charges are still pending against a Fordyce man accused of killing his stepsister.

John Aldrich, 25, is being held at the Dallas County Detention Center on probable cause of second-degree murder in the death of Nancy Harvill, 34, who had last been seen in October 2011.

Harvill’s body was found in a workshop connected to a house in Fordyce where Aldrich and Harvill lived with other relatives.

Dallas County Sheriff’s Investigator Chuck Barker said a bond of $250,000 was set for Aldrich after a probable cause hearing in Dallas County Circuit Court.

Barker said an investigation into the slaying is continuing.
