A $100,000 cash-only bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man who allegedly raped a child, police said.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge Gregory Croseford, 31, with rape.

Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said the mother of the 9-year-old victim contacted police detectives Tuesday to report the incident and because of injuries to the child, she was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Detective Marcia Oliver reported that when Croseford was questioned, he “admitted doing some things but denied doing others.”

In addition to setting the bond, Kearney ordered Croseford to have no contact with the alleged victim and to come back to court Oct. 3.

Croseford said he would hire his own attorney.
