An EASI Ambulance sits on its side in the middle of the north bound lane of Martha Mitchell Expressway late Wednesday afternoon after reportedly being sideswiped by a car traveling across the highway on Michigan Avenue, according to a police spokesman. The driver of the car was moving while the traffic light was green, but failed to yield to the ambulance which was crossing the path of the car on an emergency call to another accident. The driver of the ambulance was taken to the hospital, reportedly for an injured arm. The driver of the car, a late model Camaro, was not hurt and received a citation at the scene for failing to yield, police said. Names were not available at press time.
