Police responding to a reported burglar alarm at Greenville School early Sunday morning arrested a man whom they allegedly found coming out of a classroom.
Sherroderick McDaniel, 26, was found inside the school at 2501 W. 10th Ave., after the alarm was activated at 5:55 a.m., Deputy Prosecutor Karres Manning said during a court hearing for McDaniel on Monday.
Detective Marsha Oliver said in a probable-cause affidavit that officers found several windows broken at the school.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $25,000 bond for McDaniel after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with commercial burglary.
Bridgforth appointed the Public Defender’s Office to represent McDaniel and told him to come back to court Aug. 15.
