Bond set in alleged TV thefts from Walmart

A $10,000 b0nd was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man who allegedly took items from the Walmart Supercenter Sunday night.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge Henry Thornton, 56, with theft of property.

Detective Sam Atkinson reported that Roger Wise, a loss prevention officer at Walmart, saw Thornton allegedly taking televisions from the store without paying for them.

Police reported that store surveillance video also recorded Thornton’s actions.

The value of the televisions was listed as $1,291.

Kearney told Thornton to come back to court Jan. 28.
