Arrest made in Monday stabbing

A Pine Bluff man was allegedly stabbed Monday and a second man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Whitney Fellows, 27, allegedly stabbed Michael Rogers after a verbal altercation turned physical at Diane’s Arcade on South Camden Road, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said during a court appearance for Fellows on Wednesday.

Detective Steven Rucker said in a probable-cause affidavit that Rogers was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center after the incident. Kizer said Rogers was in the intensive care unit.

Although Fellows had been held on probable cause of second-degree battery, Kizer said prosecutors would seek a first-degree battery charge because a weapon was involved.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $25,000 bond for Fellows on the amended allegation of first-degree battery and also told Fellows to have no contact with Rogers until the case is settled.
