Alleged threats at nightclub lead to arrest

A Pine Bluff woman who refused to leave a nightclub early Friday morning was arrested after she allegedly threatened an employee of the club.

Jaresha Battles, 21, was in the Green Door at 421 N. University Drive at 3:39 a.m. when a security guard told her to leave, Detective Jacqueline Stevenson said in a probable cause affidavit.

Battles reportedly refused, cursed the security guard, and threatened the guard with a box cutter, Stevenson said.

When she was questioned, Battles reportedly denied making the threats.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Battles after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge Battles with terroristic threatening.

Kearney also ordered Battles to have no contact with the alleged victim until the case is settled and told her to come back to court Dec. 3.
