4 injured when vehicle strikes house on Port Road

Four people sustained injuries when a vehicle left the road and struck a house at 2912 Port Road about 6:50 p.m. Friday, according to Pine Bluff Police Officer Richard Wegner, who investigated the accident along with Officer Sylvester Davis.

The vehicle, whose driver was not identified, was reportedly being driven faster than the speed limit. It left the road, crossed some empty lots, knocked down three fences and finally collided with the front porch of the house. Debris from the accident damaged a nearby automobile, Wegner said.

Two people who were on the porch were injured, as were two passengers in the vehicle. None of the injuries were life-threatening, said Wegner.

The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, was ticketed for failure to maintain control of his vehicle and driving without a license.
