Truck strikes bank building, leaves scene, police say


Pine Bluff police are investigating an accident which left about $7,000 worth of damage to the crosswalk on the Fifth Avenue side of Simmons First National Bank, 501 S. Main St., Thursday, police said.

At approximately 2:03 p.m., police were called to Simmons First where staff reported seeing a large white truck, towing a flatbed trailer with a crane, strike the crosswalk as it went under the structure.

The truck left the scene traveling south on Main Street, Detective Capt. G.B. Shapiro said.

Anyone with information should call the Pine Bluff Police Detective Division at (870) 730-2090. A reward may be available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects. All calls will be kept confidential, Shapiro said.
