Police: Shooting victim sustains non-life threatening injuries

A shooting Monday afternoon at West 21st Avenue and South Beech Street left a Pine Bluff man with non-life threatening injuries.

Kevin Cowser, 34, was taken by ambulance to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for a non-life threatening gunshot wound, Pine Bluff Police Department spokesman Capt. Greg Shapiro said in a press release.

Officers responded to the scene of the incident at 1:34 p.m.

Cowser was a suspect in the September 2011 murder of Marcus McAfee, 19, of Pine Bluff. Cowser was arrested after a shooting incident at near 29th Avenue and Fir Street that left McAfee dead and another man wounded, according to previous articles. Cowser was later released pending further investigation and formal charges were never filed.
