Police arrested a Pine Bluff man Wednesday for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl earlier that day.
Pine Bluff Police Department Detective James Williams reported that Ronny Smith, 40, allegedly raped the girl at an east side residence and was later taken into custody at a residence in the Dollarway community.
During a court hearing Thursday, Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $100,000 bond for Smith after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with rape.
Smith said that he would hire his own attorney, was told to have no contact with the alleged victim and was told to come back to court Aug. 23.
