Police responding to a domestic disturbance call late Thursday morning at a residence on West 27th Avenue arrested a Pine Bluff man for third degree domestic battery (second offense).
Pine Bluff Police Department Detective Brad Vilches reported that Jeffrey Sherman, 47, told responding officers that nothing was going on but after an alleged female victim inside the residence said that Sherman “jumped on” her and officers observed swelling on the right side of her face, Sherman was taken into custody.
During a court hearing Tuesday, Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a bond of $25,000 after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with third degree domestic battery (second offense).
Sherman said he would hire his own attorney and was told to have no contact with the alleged victim and to come back to court August 21.
