Nothing found at school after reports of possible weapon

Nothing was found at Watson Chapel Junior High School Thursday after it was placed on lock down when school officials received a report of a possible weapon on campus.

District Superintendent Danny Hazelwood said the lock down lasted between an hour-and-a-half and two hours. Students were kept in their classrooms while a search was conducted.

“We wanted to be extremely careful and didn’t want students wandering around,” Hazelwood said.

Nothing was found during the search and students were allowed to return to their normal activities at about 2:30 p.m., Hazelwood said.
