Local radio personality accused of sexual indecency

Pine Bluff radio station KTRN 104.5-FM personality Billy G. Coble of White Hall posted a $5,000 bond and was released from the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center in Pine Bluff after being served June 21 with a Class D felony warrant accusing him of sexual indecency with a child.

Coble, 43, reportedly hadn’t had his first court appearance as of Friday, so he hasn’t entered a plea and no court date has been scheduled. A Class D felony conviction can result in a prison sentence of up to six years and a fine of up to $10,000.

According to a White Hall Police Department report, the charge stemmed from a May 30 incident in which Coble allegedly asked a teenage girl to disrobe. No sexual contact was involved, the report stated.

The report further said that the incident was reported to police by the girl on May 31, and during an ensuing investigation,

Efforts to reach KTRN General Manager Vickie Hooker were unsuccessful and she has not returned a telephone call. A station spokesman last week declined to comment on Coble’s status with the station, other than to say he’s still employed there.
