A woman identifying herself as the homeowner of a house at Second Avenue and Oak Street said her home was not one of the homes included in a drug bust conducted by law enforcement on Feb. 16, contrary to a photo caption that appeared in The Commercial on Feb. 17. At the time, a spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office told The Commercial that it was. After the agency was contacted for verification again this week because of the homeowner’s complaint, the spokesman said it would be impossible at this time to definitively determine if the house was visited by law enforcement during the bust because of the amount of time that has elapsed, the large number of locations visited, the number of different law enforcement agencies involved and other factors.
