Anniversaries/Annuals

Pastoral appreciation for Rev. Fredric and Melissa Roberts will be celebrated at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church at Cornerstone at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The guest preacher will be the Rev. Robert Anderson, pastor of Mulberry Grove Baptist Church at Altheimer.

Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Grady will celebrate its 123rd church anniversary, homecoming, and memorial services at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

The guest preacher will be the Rev. Harold Shirlee, pastor of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.

Paradise Missionary Baptist Church at Grady will celebrate is 16th appreciation program honoring its pastor and wife, Rev. Sylvester Kearney and Brenda Kearney on Sunday. At 11 a.m., the sermon will be by the Rev. Cleon Morgan, associate minister at Christ Temple Holiness Church. At 3 p.m., the guest preacher will be the Rev. Reginald Pace, pastor of Christ Temple.

The sixth pastor’s anniversary honoring Rev. and Mrs. Willie E. Finch will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Sunday at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Rowher. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Isom Cross Jr. of Union Baptist Church at Dumas.

The 12th year appreciation program honoring the pastor and wife, Rev. and Mrs. C. James Lee, will be held Sunday at Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church at Grady. At 11 a.m., Rev. Gregory Lee, associate minister at Travelers Rest, will deliver the sermon. At 3 p.m. The guest preacher will be the Rev. William Shaw Jr., pastor of Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church.

The 20th anniversary celebration honoring the Rev. Jerry Brasfield will be celebrated at Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church, 2617 W. Eighth Ave., at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The guest preacher will be the Rev. William Jarmon, pastor of Evening Star Baptist Church at McGehee.

Concerts/Musicals

A benefit musical program “Love Celebration” service in honor of the late R.D. “Red” Robinson and family will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 900 Grant St.

The guests will include Mighty Gospelettes, Sensational Soul Revivals, Nu-Image-3, Spiritualettes, Holley Sisters, Barnes Sisters and many more.

Truth and Love Worship Center Church of God in Christ, 2006 W. 13th Ave., will hold its appreciation revival for the Superintendent Henry Hellums Sr. and Jereline Hellums, a missionary, for 27 years of pastoral service and 40 years of ministry. The dates, times and speakers will be:

Greater Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3700 W. 13th Ave., will hold its annual revival Monday through Wednesday at 7 nightly. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Richard Lewis Jr., pastor of Unity Baptist Church at Corpus Cove, Texas.

Belmont Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will hold its annual cemetery program at 2:30 p.m. The guest preacher will be the Rev. R.C. Barnes, pastor of Ash Street Missionary Baptist Church at Dermott.

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will hold its annual ushers program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Clark Thomas, pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill.

Prophetic Fellowship of Churches and Ministries will sponsor their annual “Prayer Motorcade” at 7 a.m. June 2. The line up will start at 6:30 a.m. at Evangelistic Outreach Church, 620 L. A. Prexy Davis Drive.

New Beginnings Baptist Church, 8826 Old Warren Road, will hold its annual homecoming service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Jamie Cotler of Hamburg, known as the “Skateboard Preacher” of Hamburg. There will be a potluck meal at 2 p.m. There will not be at 6 p.m. service.

Charles Cantwell, has been the pastor of New Beginnings for nine years, carrying on the vision of the late founding pastor, Ronny Bond, who wanted to see the church grow into a lighthouse, a spokesman said.

Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 2915 S. Main St., will hold its appreciation program honoring Rev. Rodrick Marchbanks and Rev. Billy Bradley at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Anthony Walker, pastor of Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
