Anniversaries/Annuals

Joy Community Church, 2101 E. Sixth Ave., will celebrate its 16th pastoral and church anniversary honoring pastor and wife, Rev. Curtis and Juanita Cook at 4 p.m. Sunday. The guest churches will include Unity Apostolic, Christ Temple Apostolic of Hamburg, Bibleway of Maumelle, and Christ Temple Holiness.

Unity Temple Church of God in Christ will celebrate its 19th annual Sunday School Day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Annette Dove of Unity Temple and the guest superintendent will be Julie Hadley of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ.

Mount Zion Baptist Church at Faith will hold its second anniversary program honoring Rev. John Farris and Tanya Farris at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be Rev. Patrick Lockett, apostle and pastor of New Community Baptist Church.

Mount Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, 812 E. Harding Ave., will celebrate its 35th anniversary appreciation honoring Rev. Robert Handley at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Johnathan Handley, pastor of Community Progressive Missionary Baptist Church at Kansas City, Mo.

Family Time Baptist Church and Ministries, 501 Ohio St., will be celebrating its 15th anniversary of the pastor and wife, Rev. Micheal Williams Sr. and Pamela Williams,on Sunday.

At 9 a.m., the guest preacher will be the Rev. Robert Keys of Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

At 3 p.m., the Rev. Glenn Barnes of Pine Hill Baptist Church will deliver the sermon.

Concerts/Musicals

Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, 7122 Sheridan Road, at White Hall, will feature the Bost Family Traditions gospel band at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The Bost Family Traditions is a five piece, southern gospel group from Cochise County, Ariz., described as the “quintessential family band.”

Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church at Grady will hold its pre-anniversary musical at 7 p.m. Friday.

Revivals

Hosanna Christian Church, 1500 N. Bryant St., will host a revival Wednesday through Friday at 7 p.m. Jimothy Jamison, a prophet of Tampa, Fla., will be the guest speaker.

Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 4807 W. Sixth Ave., will hold its spring revival Monday through Friday at 6:30 nightly.

The devotional message will be by the Rev. Aaron Johnson, pastor of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church. The guest evangelist will be the Rev. Rashawn Howard, associate minister at Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

New Jerusalem No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church, 1005 W. 12th Ave., will hold its revival service Monday through Friday at 7 nightly.

The guest speakers will be Rev. Charles McIntosh, Rev. Gabriel Jackson, Rev. Carl Williams, Rev. Leon Williams Sr., and Rev. Robert Willis.

Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 719 S. Ohio St., will hold its family and friends day at 11 a.m. Sunday.

The guest preacher will be the Rev. Rashawn Howard of Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

New Salem Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill/Pastoria will hold an appreciation program honoring Clifton Blunt, minister of music, at 7 p.m. today.

Greater Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church, 3700 W. Sixth Ave., will host the Pine Bluff/Helena District Department of Church Growth and Evangelism Conference from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today. On-site registration will be $25.

Arkansas First Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ — Pine Bluff District No. 1 will present “It’s All About Hats” at 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Rehabilitation Restoration Community Development Inc. (also known as the Trinity Annex), 2900 W. Sixth Ave. The guest speaker will be Shirley Withers of the Woodson District.

The pastor and apostle, Larry C. Nance Sr., and the True Worshippers Apostolic Church, 106 N. Bloom st., will celebrate its co-founder’s program in memory of Rosemary Nance, a prophetess, at 2 p.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Mary Nance, the first lady and a minister of True Worshippers.

New Morning Star Baptist Church at Cornerstone will hold its family and friends day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. R.P. Bifford Sr., associate minister at Mount Bayou Church at Altheimer.

Karen Akin, associate minister of Congregational Nurture at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, will be the guest speaker at the Presbyterian Women’s Birthday luncheon at noon Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 717 W. 32nd Ave.

Union Missionary Baptist Church at Rison will hold its Men and Women’s Day celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Alvin Lowe, pastor of Prairie Lake Missionary Baptist Church.

Mount Pleasant A.M.E. Church, 1201 N. Magnolia St., will present its Women’s Day celebration beginning with a luncheon at 1 p.m. today. The guest speaker will be Pamela Smith, communications’ director of the Little Rock School District and formerly of KATV Channel. The special guests will be A Joyful Noise.

At 9 a.m. Sunday, the guest reviewer will be Jackie Breamsey of First Baptist Church at Dew Drop. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be Betty Tolefree of St. James A.M.E. Church at Rison.
