Anniversaries/Annuals

First Missionary Baptist Church at Ladd will hold its annual mission program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. John Farris, pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church at Faith.

All attendees are requested to bring a non-perishable item or canned good.

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will hold its 15th annual mass choir anniversary program at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The guest preacher will be Rev. Larry Battles of Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.

St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will celebrate its 146th anniversary Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Darren Edgerson of St. Peter’s Rock Baptist Church at Pine Bluff will be the guest preacher.

Union Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer will celebrate the third anniversary honoring pastor and first lady, Rev. Hosea Miller and Janice Miller, at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The guest preacher will be Arthur Hughes, pastor of First Baptist Church in Humphrey and First Baptist Church in West Helena.

A celebration banquet for the pastor and wife will be held today at 6:30 p.m. at the Union Baptist Church fellowship hall. The speaker will be Vonda Rogers, first lady of St. Mark Baptist Church in Sherrill. Tickets are $10.

The Sensational Hearts of Star City will hold their 11th-year anniversary celebration at 7 p.m. today at New St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 3301 S. Fir St. Guests will include Total Praise of Gates, Tenn., Unique Anointing of Humboldt, Tenn., Unity of Toone, Tenn., R.C. Barnes and Another Chapter and others.

The celebration will continue Sunday at 7 p.m. at Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1305 W. 16th Ave. Guests will include the Williams Singers, The Gospel Sonz, Barnes Sisters, Spiritualettes, White Rose, Kim Pettus and Friends and many others.

First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will hold a pastor’s anniversary celebration for their pastor and first lady, the Rev. Charles S. Boyd Sr., and Elfreda Boyd at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Melvin C. Smith of Mount Moriah-East Baptist Church in Memphis, Tenn., will be the guest preacher.

Star Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at Wabbaseka will honor the Rev. and Sis. Luther Spratt during the fourth anniversary celebration at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

The sermon will be given by the Rev. George Barnes of Little Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in McGehee.

The Clara B. Gibson Missionary Society of Mount Pleasant AME Church, 1201 N. Magnolia, will present its annual Mission Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Paula Coleman will be the guest speaker.

Motley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 794 St. Raphael Road, will celebrate the 16th anniversary of its pastor and his wife, the Rev. Wiley Shelton and Angenette Shelton, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The sermon will be the Rev. Isaac Barnes of First Baptist Church at Gould.

Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Dumas will be celebrating its 121st church anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Mark Stephens of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in McGehee will be the guest minister.

Concerts/Musicals

New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 2900 S. Catalpa St., will host a musical praise service at 3 p.m. Sunday, featuring the group True Vessel.

A musical benefit program for Tony Borders and Doris Russell-Perry will be held at Mount Zion Baptist Church at Altheimer at 7 p.m. today. The event is sponsored by the Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir.

The celebration will continue Sunday at 6 p.m. at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2121 W. 26th Ave. Guests will include Cheerful Rights of DeValls Bluff, The Wonder States, New Genesis, Mighty Truelights, Witnezz and many others.

Revival

There Is Hope Church of God in Christ, 1003 E. Second Ave., will be hosting revival services Wednesday through Friday at 7:30 nightly. The revivalist will be D. Keith Hutchins of Atlanta.

Special Events

There will be a praise and worship service at the Ramada Plaza at 6 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. George Gatewood Jr., will deliver the sermon.

New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Moscow will host Friends and Family Day at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Robert Scott of pastor of Damascus Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest preacher.

New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1317 S. Texas St., will salute its 2012 graduates at 11 a.m. Sunday. Katherine Glover Collins will give words of encouragement.

Full Faith Christian Center, 1320 E. 17th Ave., will hold a musician appreciation service at 4 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Larry Blood from St. Paul in Tucker.

Eternal Life Ministry, 503 Pryce St., will hold its fellowship program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speakers will be Pastor Jack Rannie of Little Rock, Pastor Betty White, Evangelist Christine Sims, and Bishop Aundre Johnson, all of Pine Bluff.

Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church, 121 Martin st., will honor the Rev. James Nelson with an Appreciation of Love program at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The guest preacher will be George H. Barnes Sr., pastor of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.

Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Cornerstone will have an appreciation program for Albert Cook at 3 p.m. Sunday. Pastor Leroy Bryant of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church will bring the message.

Highland Missionary Baptist Church, 1320 Peach St., will have an ushers’ brunch and program from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. Rev. Johnny Smith Sr., pastor of Christian Unity at Dumas, will be the speaker.

Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sherrill will host the monthly worship services of the Pastoria Singing Union at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Dennis and Marilyn Snyder will minister in word and song at First United Methodist Church at Sherrill at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2520 N. Pryce St., will host its annual usher program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Ulysess Dunlap, pastor of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Sherrill and Jerusalem No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church in Altheimer.

The church will also host a barbecue and fish dinner sale today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Greater Deliverance Ministry will host its Founder’s Celebration for Bishop Shirley Sanders at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Ramada Plaza’s Jefferson Room. The guest speaker will be Mary D. Arnold of Hamburg.

Shirley Wilkins Goodwin, a prophetess, will be honored at 6 p.m. June 30 during an appreciation program at 502 Chestnut St., a facility at Fifth Avenue and Chestnut Street.

Women’s/Men’s Day

Bethany Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1923 S. Olive St., will host the St. Marion District Association Women’s Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Mary Davis will be the speaker. All women are asked to wear white.

Oak Grove Baptist Church at Gethsemane will hold its annual Women’s and Men’s Day celebration Sunday. The guest speaker at the 11 a.m. service will be Mary Coates, and the guest preacher at the 3 p.m. service will be the Rev. Robert Coates. Both are from St. Paul Baptist Church in Little Rock.

New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will present its annual Men’s Day program Sunday at 3 p.m. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Clark Thomas, pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church at Pastoria.

New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 500 Bois D’Arc, will its their annual Women’s Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Daisy Roberts of Bethel AME Church at Ladd will be the guest speaker. Women are requested to wear white and purple.

Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 1200 W. Eighth Ave., will celebrate its annual Men’s Day program Sunday. The 11 a.m. message will be brought by the Rev. Rashawn Howard from Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, and the 3 p.m. message will be brought by Prophet Quintin C. Radford from Kingdom Authority Christian Ministries in Gurdon.

Cherry Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Moscow will observe its annual Women’s Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Pastor Donald Manning from Thomas Chapel Baptist Church in Gould will be the guest preacher.

Vacation Bible School

New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas will be holding Vacation Bible School Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. each night.

Pleasant View Ministry, 1117 N. Palm St., will be holding Vacation Bible School on Sunday through Friday from 6 to 8 each night.

Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 W. Pullen St., will host Vacation Bible School on Monday through Thursday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. each day.

The Church of God, 7111 Shannon Road, will host Vacation Bible School on Wednesday through Friday from 5:30 to 7:30 nightly. The church invites everyone to return for a summer block party from noon to 6 p.m. June 30.

Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 719 S. Ohio St., will host Vacation Bible School on Monday through Friday from 6 to 8 nightly.

Youth

New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas will host its annual Youth Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Larry Alexander of St. Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas.

Eudora Missionary Baptist Church, 9405 Middle Warren Road, will host a Youth Day program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Billy Bradley of Solid Rock.
