Intern joins newspaper staff

Local college student Terri Harrison is getting a glimpse into a future career as a summer intern for The Commercial.

Born and raised in Pine Bluff, Harrison graduated from White Hall High School and is a current student at Southeast Arkansas College.

She plans to transfer to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock within two years and plans to major in journalism.

It was in her English Composition class at SEARK where her passion for writing began to spark. When the chance for an internship occurred, Harrison was interested in the opportunity.

The internship will last eight weeks. Throughout that time, Harrison will face a variety of experiences. She will be working in different segments in the news department and writing local stories.

Harrison is the daughter of David Harrison and Christine Smith and has two brothers, Tyler Harrison and Lucas Harrison.

The Commercial’s internship is offered in cooperation with the Arkansas Press Association.
