Pine Bluff residents Gloria Smith and Wendy Spadoni were honored Tuesday for serving 12 and five years, respectively, with exceptional records as drivers for the VanPool program.

VanPool is a commuter service provided by the Arkansas State Employees Association and its subsidiary SEBCO.

At an appreciation luncheon given in recognition of the VanPool program’s 33 years of service, ASEA executive director Danny James presented plaques to drivers with long-standing, excellent driving records.

Of the 30 drivers, Smith and Spadoni were among five honorees. Smith, a driver since May 2000, and Spadoni since April 2007, operate daily routes that transport Pine Bluff residents to and from their jobs in Little Rock.

For more information about using the van, contact VanPool coordinator Kelly Welcher at (501) 378-0187 or from outside Pulaski County, (800) 950-8139.

ASEA is a nonprofit organization working to improve state government and state employment.
