JRMC promotes cancer awareness

March 25-31 is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Week and Jefferson Regional Medical Center is distributing free, do-it-yourself home screening kits.

“Even though cases of colorectal cancer have been declining in recent years due to early detection, it is still the third most common cancer in the U.S., and the death rate from colon cancer is slightly higher in Arkansas than the national average,” said Rebecca Pittillo, director of marketing at JRMC. “The at-home test is only a screening, but it may indicate the need for a visit to your physician.”

To receive your free kit, call JRMC at 870-541-7635, choose option 1, and leave your name and mailing address.
