Group aims to ‘Stop the Bloodshed’

Voices of Children, a Pine Bluff group which aims to prevent violence, held a “Stop the Bloodshed” rally Saturday at the parking lot of the old Food King, 16th Avenue and Cherry Street.

According to spokeswoman Michelle Gant, the group hopes to hold rallies once a month.

“The purpose of these rallies is to put the word out that these killings are affecting the children,” she said.

Gant asked if people continue to die because of violence, what will happen to the children?

“If these rallies can change just one person’s mind from committing a crime, then that is one more person that can help the children,” she said.
