Greenville Elementary School recently celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday by reading as many of his books as possible.

Dressed like “The Cat In The Hat,” Ollie King, Greenville’s literacy coach visited several classrooms reading one of her favorite Seuss books, “The Cat In The Hat” to students and stressing to them the importance of reading.

King encouraged students to read every day, saying that reading is a process. It takes them places they may never actually visit and learning to read will unlock many doors for them, she said.

Students from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff also read a book to Greenville students.
