The Fire Pension Board has called a special meeting at 10 a.m. June 19 in the mayor’s conference room at the civic complex.
The Fire Pension Board has requested that the Pine Bluff City Council members also be present for the meeting.
The board manages the pension fund for Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department employees who were part of a municipally run pension fund that was replaced in 1983 by a state-run fund.
Officials from the Arkansas Fire and Police Pension Review Board will be present to review a special financial report on the pension fund, according to a notice from the city clerk’s office. On May 22, voters approved a 0.2 mill millage increase to increase revenue to the fund, which has been projected to be insolvent within 10 years.
