The Pine Bluff-Jefferson County Economic Opportunities Commission will distribute USDA food commodities Wednesday at Hestand Stadium from 8 a.m. until supplies run out.
Volunteers are needed to help with sacking on Monday and Tuesday as well as during distribution Wednesday.
Applicants for commodities must meet income eligibility, which can be determined by meeting one of the following criteria — the household participation in the food stamp program, household meeting financial eligibility criteria requirements which compares the household size and income to the state income guidelines of 130% poverty level, or a foster child, or children being automatically eligible.
For a household of 1, monthly countable income limit is $1,179. For each additional person in the household, add $414.
To apply for assistance, the household should bring picture ID of those requesting food, Social Security numbers, and dates of birth for all household members.
