Citizens police group announces plan

The Citizens on Patrol unit of the Pine Bluff Citizens Police Alumni Association decided to volunteer to monitor the homes of people who are away attending funerals.

Chairman Mike Barbarotto calls it their “Funeral Assistance” program and details will be announced to the public. The project was decided at the group’s April meeting.

People requesting the funeral assistance service may contact any member of the alumni association or call 692-6082. The service will be provided pending the availability of the persons signed up to participate.

In other business, Linda Smith was elected as secretary filling the vacancy created by the previous secretary’s resignation.

Participants also heard that the advanced Citizens on Patrol course will be administered in the May meeting for alumni interested in becoming citizens on patrol.
