WHITE HALL — One man was killed and two other people injured Sunday night when a reported domestic dispute turned deadly at White Hall, and a Star City man was arrested in connection with the incident.
Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley identified the victim as Ralph Richard Reynolds Jr., 33, of White Hall.
Kelley said the body would be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office at Little Rock for an autopsy Monday.
According to the intake log at the Jefferson County Detention Center, Larry Pierce, 25, of Star City is being held with no bond on probable cause of one count of first-degree murder and two counts of first-degree battery pending an expected court appearance Tuesday.
White Hall police responded to 902 West St., at 7:07 p.m., for a reported disturbance involving a child custody dispute. Officers said an altercation began inside the house and continued outside to the driveway where three people, including Reynolds, were struck by a vehicle that was attempting to leave the house.
Reynolds was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Eric Belcher at 8;06 p.m., and the cause of death was listed as multiple blunt force trauma.
Two other people, whose names were not immediately available, were treated for what police described as “non-life threatening” injuries.
White Hall police are continuing to investigate the incident.
The slaying was the fifth of the year in Jefferson County and the third outside the Pine Bluff city limits.
