The signs fronting the old USA Drug stores on Dollarway Road and Harding Avenue have been removed and replaced with Walgreens signs.
“Over the course of the next three months, the Walgreens name will either replace or be added to the name of all former USA Drug properties we acquired last year and operate today,” James W. “Jim” Graham, a Walgreen Company corporate media relations specialist, said Thursday. “In some cases, we plan to modify the existing name by adding ‘Powered by Walgreens’ to it.
“In most cases, our store will take the Walgreens name solely,” he continued. “Ours is one of the most trusted brands in retailing, health and wellness, and we think it is important for our customers to know their store is now in the Walgreens family.”
A supervisor at a local Walgreens said the stores won’t be selling any merchandise under the USA brand.
