At least one person was injured in an accident that briefly shut down traffic on Olive Street on Thursday evening.
The injuries were described as non-life-threatening by Pine Bluff Police Department spokesman Capt. Greg Shapiro, who was unsure of the number of people who went to the hospital after the accident.
All four lanes of traffic in the area of West 19th Avenue and South Olive Street were blocked off at about 6 p.m. while police and emergency responders were working the accident.
Officer Richard Wegner reported that one of the vehicles, a pickup truck, was driving southbound on Olive and the other vehicle, a car, was driving eastbound on West 19th Avenue when the two collided, Shapiro said. The cause of the accident was still under investigation Thursday night.
Wegner reported that those injured were expected to be treated and released Thursday evening.
