The Arkansas State Police and the Arkansas County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the deaths of an Arkansas County man and his wife, an ASP spokesman confirmed Thursday.
Bill Sadler, public information officer for the ASP, said in a news release Thursday that Arkansas County deputies responded to a telephone call reporting the discovery of two bodies at a local residence at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Deputies later identified the bodies of Thomas Depriest, 46, and his wife, Debbie Depriest, 45, who both lived at 21 Depriest Lane, north of Stuttgart, Sadler said.
The sheriff’s department subsequently requested the assistance of special agents assigned to the ASP Criminal Investigation Division, according to Sadler.
“Agents are conducting an investigation and the bodies have been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an exact determination of cause and manner of death,” Sadler said in the news release.
