The 12th annual Smoke on the Water Ribba-Ramma will once again bring top barbecue grill masters to Pine Bluff Regional Park this Friday and Saturday.
Considered the largest contest in the state, the competition includes guaranteed prize money of $5,000, with a prize of $2,500 for the Grand Champion; $1,000 for the reserve champion; $750 for third place; $500 for fourth place; $250 for fifth place; and $500 for the People’s Choice Winner.
A benefit lunch and dinner for the Children’s Advocacy Center will be Friday, with a barbecue sandwich, a bag of chips, a cookie and a bottle of water available for $5. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Deliveries will be made for orders of 10 or more. Call the CAC office at 870 850-7105.
The Parade of Paws Pet Adoption Pageant at 2 p.m. Saturday will highlight regional animal rescue organizations, and pets adopted at this event will receive their first round of shots free of charge.
Several giant screen televisions will be provided for fans to watch the Arkansas Razorbacks football game at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Gates open Friday at 5 p.m. with the Cummins Prison Band performing from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.; a chicken wing contest from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.; and DJ Jams from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
