McGEHEE — While no one knows exactly what the new farm bill will look like, there are expectations for changes that will affect how Arkansas producers make their living.
Learn to better manage risks at “Farm Outlook 2013,” set for 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 at the Men’s Club Community Center in McGehee, 1 S. Airport Road. The half-day event features experts in economics, the markets, crop insurance and the Farm Bill. The program winds up with lunch. There’s no cost to attend, but an RSVP is appreciated before Nov. 6.
On the program are Kathy Ferguson of Ferguson Crop insurance, Scott Stiles, extension economist discussing the overview of the projected costs for the 2013 crop; Gene Martin, senior market analyst with the Arkansas Farm Bureau offering the commodity market outlook for next year; and David Bridgforth, attorney with RamsayBridgforth Law Firm and an expert on Farm Bill legislation.
