There were no injuries in a house fire that destroyed a home at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Apple Street early Friday afternoon.
Crews with Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services responded to a call shortly before 2 p.m. and found the residence fully engulfed in flame upon their arrival.
Fire Chief Shauwn Howell said an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
“The main thing is that there were no injuries and we are very thankful for that,” Howell said. “Nobody was home at the time. We can say that the residence is a total loss.”
Smoke from the fire was so thick that it could be seen from several miles away when the blaze was at its peak.
