A new Allcare Pharmacy officially opened its doors to the public Monday morning with a grand opening celebration at its location at West 28th Avenue and Catalpa Street in Pine Bluff.
Pharmacy manager David Stroud said the new store will offer the Select Brand products that customers of the former USA Drug have missed since the sale of that chain to Walgreens in 2012.
“Stephen LaFrance was a good friend and he loved both Pine Bluff and the pharmacy business,” Stroud said Monday of the USA Drug founder who died June 5. “Mr. LaFrance had wanted to be here at this grand opening.”
Allcare Pharmacy President and CEO W. Percy Malone said the addition of the Pine Bluff location brings the total number of Allcare locations in the state to 19.
“We are going to listen to the people of Pine Bluff,” Malone said. “This is a community pharmacy and we are going to be a part of this community. Mr. LaFrance knew how to have multiple stores and still maintain a hometown feeling at each location. That is also the focus of Allcare.”
In addition to Pine Bluff, Allcare has locations in Arkadelphia, Little Rock, Prescott, Hope, Texarkana, Magnolia, Jonesboro, Trumann, Mountain Home, Rogers, Fort Smith, Paris, Danville and Heber Springs.
