Jefferson Regional Medical Center will hold “Art From the Heart,” a free Valentine event for children 12 years old and younger and their parents.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday on the first floor of the Jefferson Professional Center II at 40th Avenue and Mulberry Street.
There will be activities inside and outside the building, including inflatables, carnival games, contests, Valentine candy and four art stations. Each station will be equipped with supplies for different items: A Valentine’s Day card for family, a Valentine’s Day card for a friend, a Valentine’s Day card for a patient at JRMC, and a piece of original artwork that will be displayed at JPC II for judging.
On Feb. 12, JRMC employees will vote on their favorite artwork during a Valentine’s party, and members of the public will vote that evening during a community reception. Winners will be chosen in three age groups, and one boy and one girl from each category will receive a $100 gift card.
On Feb. 14, JRMC’s Youth Ambassadors, a teen volunteer group, will deliver the Valentine’s Day cards to patients at JRMC and in area nursing homes. Details: Contact Lisa Rowland at 541-7636.
