Hogg named commander of State Police Troop E at Pine Bluff

The Arkansas State Police have promoted a Star City man to captain and named him commander at Troop E in Pine Bluff.

Capt. Leonard Hogg, a 33-year veteran of the State Police, was most recently assistant commander of Troop E. The troop includes Jefferson, Arkansas, Lincoln and Desha counties.

Hogg replaces former Troop Commander Capt. Lloyd Franklin Sr., who retired at the end of July.

State Police Director Col. Stan Witt recommended the promotion, along with those of new Capt. Jim Howington, 57, of Bryant, who will be commander of Troop C at Jonesboro, and Capt. Jeffery Drew, 52, of Bentonville, who will be commander of Troop B at Newport.
