The Pine Bluff Historic District Commission in a Friday meeting at city hall moved closer to its first awards presentation event by deciding upon several prize titles and recipients.
The event will be held in early November in the old Harlow Sanders Building at 220 W. Barraque St., and winners will be announced then.
Additional details on the event will be announced soon.
In other business, the panel approved the release of the proposed downtown historic design guidelines for public review.
It was announced that city Inspection and Zoning Director Robert Tucker will soon release a scope of work on the third phase of the historic Boone-Murphy House on West Fourth Avenue. The structure, originally located at 702 W. Second Ave., served as Union headquarters during the Civil War.
The third phase of its remodeling includes placement of a handicap entry at the back of the structure and some interior cabinet work.
Tucker has also sent a requested scope of work on roof repairs at The Saenger Theatre to the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program in Little Rock. AHPP requested an engineering assessment of the work.
The commission’s next regularly scheduled meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, either in the mayor’s conference room or city council conference room.
